Welcome to the website of ACPA, the Australasian Catholic Press Association. ACPA has 114 members throughout Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific. ACPA was established to promote harmony and co-operation among members of the Catholic press and with other Catholic and ecumenical associations, and to promote the advancement of the religious press and the religious media.

ACPA aims to promote the principles and practices set out in the Second Vatican Council's decree on the mass media and in subsequent social instructions on the mass media.

ACPA’s governing body is a five-member Executive elected at the Annual Convention. The Executive comprises the President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer.

The 2008-2009 office bearers are:

  • President: Kerry Myers (Catholic Weekly - Archdiocese of Sydney)
  • Vice-president: Gavin Abraham (NZ Catholic)
  • Vice-president: Annie Carrett (Broken Bay News)
  • Treasurer: Richard Vella (Opus Dei Information Office)
  • Secretary:  Fiona Lewis (Catholic Observer)
